rudedog: I am surprised that IBM did not also join in this - the last 3 "Industry partner" deals involved CPQ, HP and IBM, and IBM would seem like they need the cost savings even more than CPQ and HP. Within an hour of the HWP-CPQ announcemnt IBM was pointing out that it was still in the draft stages and would take at least a month to complete. Meanwhile, IBM gave notice that it is entering a similar deal with 9 other unamed companies in a variety of sectors. There is speculation that the HWP-CPQ camp and the IBM camp might eventually join up.
