Hi Ken - if they have the old BCE stock, why would they want to sell it and buy the when issued one. Unless they have it in their RSPP, they will incur tax that way, won't they [note: I know nothing about Canadian taxation, but it sounds reasonable, correction requested.]

Personally, I think this is a non issue. The growth folks may keep NT and sell BCE. The value folks the opposite. But most people are likely to keep both [Note: this is on the assumption that the big boys have already done proper hedging with little impact upon their unwinding.]
