Great posts Gus and Glen. Pasting a post here that I threw onto the AOL Motley board.
"Only one First Call analyst now Sunhost. Most likely the Pennsylvania fellow. My weariness stems from the way news like another negative earnings revision....there have been several in the last 90 days....will likely cut the legs out from an attempted rally yet again. A couple somewhat disappointing quarters ....as the company works to establish a foothold on new ground with new products.... would not be surprising. And I continue to be of the opinion that AXC '98 and particularly '99 revenues are absolutely unknowable. Depends on KM sale and penetration , the speed with which demand for heavy metal storage develops, the degree to which AXC patents may slip into HDTV receivers, government spending on DCR, progress of international space station plans ....all kinds of unfathomable factors. Each has a potential downside.....but each also has a rather remarkable upside. That is still true.
The positives and negatives in the 10Q are obvious to all .....particularly that analyst, but one thing kind of jumped out at me. If you recall, previously AXC had said that they once thought a contract for KM had to be signed in '96 in order to enter '97 drives. Then they said first quarter '97 would do. Now they say third quarter '97 would do. That tells me that KM - Inductive is now fully compatible with channel electronics and assembly lines and head models in widespread industry use, and can be added to any line quickly. Now as the follow the leader to MR begins ....the fact of the shortage of MR heads remains ....the growth of the low end market in drives remains. Not all drives will be MR. That would be not just impractical but impossible. Draw your own conclusions."
