Having reviewed the case against Msft, prior historical precedents and the corollaries associated with the breakups of ATT and Standard Oil, I am dumbfounded to see the panic selling in MSFT. This is practically the only stock in the big cap tech sector that is trading within any metrics that has some rational sense. Just compare Msft's multiples, cash reserves, investments and net margins with any other company and you will be hard pressed to emulate their fundamentals. Does anyone really think the era of the PC is really over? After careful deliberation I can only conclude that the PC will always be the most important device used to access the internet, the other bergeoning devices will at best complement the PC's of the future. For this reason I am betting the house on Msft.

Has everyone forgotten that we live in America, a nation run by laws and not the whims of a judge and a few states. The consensus is on Msft's side; of the 50 states only 19 are suing and less than 30% of the public is partial to breaking up Msft.

IMHO the breakup of Msft is a national security issue that should be carefully reviewed by the Oval office before any action is seriously taken. To kill the Goose that lays the Golden Egg, which unequivocally has been the vanguard in the digital era and the most important underpinning in our digital economy would be tantamount to treason by any judge or empowered officials. Why would we want to jeopardize the equanimity and health of our economy by allowing the DOJ to tamper with the dynamics associated with a company's ability to innovate and compete?
