I certainly did not mean to call you a liar. One does like to stick up for one's friends, and it wouldn't be unusual for a motivated reading of a friend's words to produce an interpretation exculpatory to that friend. I understand that.

I am glad you see that it could have been interpreted "otherwise."

I request you to tell me whether it is your belief that haqihana intended the message containing references to enemy, swift retaliation, and other threads, to be interpretable "otherwise."

(Because that is my only point, of course. I was aware how careful he was to make his threat rationalizable. This amusing yet tedious exercise has been to be sure the innocuous interpretation is the one that prevails. You have helped to assure I will not be harassed by haqihana on other threads, and I appreciate it even though I know that wasn't your aim.)
