CNBC said at lunchtime that there is a rumor floutting around the trading floors that JP MORGAN BANK is going to buy out LEH for a price of $56/share. The rumor originated from a New Jersey based news letter calle something like "the hot ticker". I'm not sure if that is the name I thought I heard. CNBC rsaid both companies refused to answere questions about the rumored takeover which tells me there might be something to it. CNBC other sources
have said that there are to other foreign banks that are interested in LEH also, but I don't remember the names of the companies. This is starting to look like the Alex Brown takeover last month. Everone knew about it before it happend.
