it will be especially tough if the proposed rule changes to pooling of interest accounting by the FASB are indeed enacted (CSCO and other tech cos. are among those heavily lobbying for the rules to remain as they are...for obvious reasons. it's easy to pull the wool over people's eyes if the rules aren't changed). once that happens, their takeover activities will dwindle to perhaps 3-5 cos a year. and the era of perfect earnings management will be over. i repeat, i like the company, but not the valuation of the stock. if it comes down to a p/e of 30, i'll take a look at it... regards, hb
