Jacob Snyder, your theory suggest that we should hamstring the wealthy and successful to give a chance to the poor and inefficient. I thought this was America, where through 'Natural Selection' companies evolved and prevailed. Unfortunately, it is embedded in the DNA of all successful companies to have an element of predatory behavior or else they would not be able to succeed and maintain their leadership. NOVL's failure is their management and modus operandi in business and to blame MSFT for the ills of most unsuccessful companies is to evade the truth. Many companies have been able to maintain their markets against MSFT, to name a few: PALM, INTU, SUNW, AOL etc., so it would be unfair to say that a company has no chance agianst MSFT. With the right technology, innovation and patents anyone can beat MSFT if they have the prescience and ABILITY (good mgmt) to prevail.
