I agree. I'll even go one step further. In my experience, when I: 1. Started doing the Lord's work (Gospel band, in my case), and 2: started really praising the Lord on a daily basis, He started showering blessing after blessing on me. Blessings included a beatiful, Christian wife (we've had 11 great years of mariage, so far), interesting and high-paying job, etc.
Before I started working for the Lord and regularly praising him, I spent more than 10 years just wandering through life, not much success and no real happiness.
He will do the same for you.
