Interesting post. However Xerox and Presstek are in totally different markets with different cost structures per printed page.

The Xerox printers are laser printers for high-volume office computer networks, where a typical job would be 10 copies of a 50-page document.

Presstek equipment makes plates for printing presses for runs in the 1000s of copies.

For short runs, the Presstek plates would be prohibitively expensive and for long runs, the Xerox prints would be prohibitively expensive.
