I agree that they will all try to supply what becomes the new standard. My question or perhaps issue is with all of this "presold volume" of drives at most likely very low prices how can we truely value the stock. In the computer industry, as we all learned with Microsoft, the largest installed base wins. Where as we (Iomega) as far as the installed base. What it the value of that base? I own a zip drive at home and have one at work. I doubt that I will ever need to by another disk beyond the two that came with the machines. How much of the - percieved value - of the stock is made up in these future sales. And what if consumers don't buy the machines due to other features being poorly engineered.
