Hal, the more I think about it, the more I believe that I/O and Microsoft have more of an agreement in principle than a fully fleshed out deal. Obviously, they must have agreed on a licensing price and scope of the agreement. However, I don't think there is a well-developed schedule for the technical development and installation of SecureSuite -- let alone a definitive date set for the next edition of Windows. Probably I/O wanted something releasable as a PR for CTST.

By the way, I have recently received a hearsay report on the I/O press conference at CTST: Two reporters, and three questions:

(1) Q: When is MSFT incorporating SecureSuite? A: We haven't worked that out yet.

(2) Q: Does this deal extend to Windows CE? A: No.

(3) Q: Are you working with any chip makers? A: We're working with Veridicom, Authentec and Infineon.
