Salah:

You admitted your error. I never raised the issue of Alta Vista. Why don't you just retire gracefully?

You still have not addressed the issue in my original post. It is probably better if this ends the matter.

It's your privilege to try to use my post to discuss your Alta Vista hobby horse. I do not want to discuss it. The historical facts are well-documented as are my own views on them.

Rosen was a Wall Street analyst, and is a venture capitalist, he has immense personal wealth. Using COMPAQ's resources he has access to the best investment advice money can buy. Don't you think it a little jejeune to be trying to compare his investment record with mine?

But since you insist on introducing the comparison, I can tell you that I did not lock my shareholdings up during this market in the way Rosen locked up COMPAQ shareholdings in CMGI. He just lost the company $3 billion dollars. Even I have not lost that kind of money - at least not lately.

Why don't you cool down. If Rosen is going to be obsessively praised on this board for his investment acumen when CMGI shares go up surely he can take a little gentle criticism when they go down. It was he (following expensive advice) who tied COMPAQ into the investment in his haste to sell off Alta Vista.

Frankly, I don't think Rosen cares as much as you do about my comments. He is sitting pretty on millions of COMPAQ shares some of which he got through cheap options.

My reference to you being intemperate was your opening statement that I was arrogant, evidently because I had diffent views from you. I'm sure you meant it as an insult but I find it strangely comforting.

I have already explained my trading record. I don't know from where you have conjured up your false version. But it does reduce you.

Have a nice day (do they still say that in the US?)
