Desert Fox--Long time no see. I wish we'd see a lot more of you and a lot less of El Capitano Metric-stick.
My reaction to your post:
Spytrdr--Yes, he clearly has money, and also clearly understands the business of trading. He is clearly the most appreciated poster on the thread, and for good reason.
Forked-Tongue (guess...)--Yes, he is well-educated, no question. Too bad, however, that his education is so clearly squandered, and that he adds less than zero value to the thread. I've had him on "ignore" for weeks, and I haven't missed a thing because he has nothing to offer.
Thinkbach--Excellent poster and someone who tries to bring some dignity to the thread. Should post more.
Jim B--very informed investor. Wish he posted more about EGRP, and occasionally less about his daily experience with E*Trade the service.
BWAC, Isoman, David Stockwell--good, informative posters.
Tae Kim--should post more.
Diamond Jim--I've heard he's spending less time complaining about the service, but since I still have him on ignore, I don't know. Probably will take him off ignore soon.
As for whether or not the $200 it cost to join SI was well-spent? Absolutely. There are some great posters here, the private message feature is great (and I often make use of it), the ability to read 10 posts at a time is very nice, and the editorial content is good, too. So, yeah, no regrets.
And as for my view of EGRP--I find our stagnation unfortunate, but am not sweating it at all. We were over-valued a year ago, and are grossly under-valued now. I don't know what will happen to the dot.com stocks, but I have zero doubt that E*Trade will be huge in 5 years--it's growth is nothing short of phenomenal, and Spy couldn't be more right about where the world is headed in terms of 24 hour trading, worldwide. I love this company, and don't give a second's thought to selling my shares.
Get out of your lurking mode, DF--enjoy the thread! |
