In Sudan, a new daily production record of over 200,000 bbls/d was reached in March, although this level will not be sustainable until the current plant debottlenecking program is complete near the end of 2000.

Development planning for water injection at Unity and development of the Bamboo and Munga fields is proceeding. During the quarter, five exploration and appraisal wells were drilled (of which three appraisal wells were drilled successfully at Bamboo).
