My problem with the bear funds is not the service they offer; I run a sector fund that does well when the sector does well and gets nailed when the sector doesn't. But my job is to work within that space.

My complaint is the way bear fund managers told everyone for years on end that the market runup was an unsustainable farce. Even after the "big crash" and multiple rate rises, the Naz is well ahead of where it stood six months ago.

Oops.

If the Naz is higher in October 2000 than it stood in October 1999 and all the rate rises are over, do you think the bear funds have much to offer?

JMHO as always.
