BLOCKBUSTER recently bolstered its Internet operations through an
alliance with TIVO (TIVO) to develop video-on-demand services, and an
agreement with METRO GOLDWYN MAYER (MGM) that secures the
digital rights to the studio's library of films.

"While this may be early evidence of BLOCKBUSTER's broadband
strategy, the company does not expect to roll out the technology and
products until 2001," Mr. Rohan said. He questioned whether the pace of
business development is fast enough to redefine the BLOCKBUSTER
brand for the online market. Because of increasing competition, Mr.
Rohan recently reduced his earnings estimates to $0.82 a share in 2000
and $1.05 a share in 2001. He expects 2000 revenue of $4.9 million.
