ANTEC Partners With CEON Corporation - Bundled Solution Enables MSOs to RapidlyIntegrate and Deploy New Broadband Services - Thu May 04 07:31:00 EDT 2000
DULUTH, Ga. and REDWOOD CITY, Calif., May 4, 2000 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- ANTEC (Nasdaq: ANTC), a leader in the hybrid fiber-coaxial (HFC) broadband transport industry, and CEON Corporation, a pioneer in eBusiness technologies that activate, provision and manage bundled communications services, today announced an agreement to integrate their products. ANTEC will become a business agent for CEON's service fulfillment solution, NetExpress(TM) and the It's On(TM) application suite. In addition, as part of this relationship, ANTEC is planning to make a small investment in CEON Corporation.
Both of CEON's software products will be integrated into the Cornerstone(R) Super Access(TM) system, which provides cable telephony, Internet data access and IP telephony services over HFC networks. This offering will enable MSOs to rapidly integrate and deploy new bundled broadband services to their subscribers.
"We're proud to be partnered with ANTEC, a recognized leader in the cable industry," said Tim Fritzley, President and CEO of CEON Corporation. "Together, we believe that our combined strengths will ensure MSOs gain a competitive edge in being the preferred providers of vital new services."
"This partnership marks a milestone in our ability to meet evolving customer demand in the cable industry," said Mike Wearsch, President, Digital Systems for ANTEC. "CEON is a great addition for offering Web-based service fulfillment solutions to our Cornerstone telephony, data and IP customers."
The Cornerstone products, such as the Cornerstone Converged Host Terminal, integrate with existing HFC broadband networks. They enable MSOs to deliver not only, reliable, high-quality phone services to subscribers, including three-way calling, caller identification and videophones, but also to deliver high-speed data and other IP services. By providing a fully digital, two-way signal, ANTEC's products allow cable operators to deliver the latest telecommunications services at a cost-effective price.
For cable operators delivering convergent services, the It's On application suite and NetExpress server provide an integrated service fulfillment platform that can scale from a national network down to a local network. CEON offers a flexible platform for building an eBusiness infrastructure and launching new products while increasing the effectiveness of existing infrastructure. Bundled value-added services can be deployed faster and more accurately, and be fully automated with CEON's Web-based customer self-service portal. This decreases administration costs and increases customer satisfaction.
