T2, re: There is obviously some thing that JDSU is missing that is keeping JDSU out of the S and P 500. I believe it is positive EBITDA and/or Net Income. They want stocks with actual PEs---at least that seems to be the case. I'm not so sure. VRTS was recently added and I don't believe it has positive EBITDA and/or net income. However, I do agree with you that the catalyst at this point will be the approval of the ETEK acquisition. Everything I have heard suggests no serious impediment to the deal going through.
