Solitons continue to make interesting reading. Does anyone have a good measure for the speed of light in fiber optic cable (I believe the relivant frequency for DWDM is 1400 to 1550) relative to electons over copper. Also if anyone is knowlegable wouldn't it be possible in the optic domain to create polarized solitons (if a soliton is a mix of pulses of light with frequencies creating the suitable constrictive and destructive interference couldn't these pulses be polarized)?
