I've changed camps.

I've been working with computers and investing for over 23 years. I spent 5 years as a MIS department manager. I've owned products from both Iomega and Syquest. I've been following both issues for over two years. I sold out my Iomega position on the belief that there was no way for the ZIP to ever become The Standard. About a month ago I found this site and began reading the postings every day. I was stunned at how many people were LOOOONG IOMEGA. What did these FOOLS see in this stock that I couldn't? Still believing that the ZIP was only a hopeful contender, near the close of trading yesterday I purchased some puts to make a play on the planned LS-120 announcement. This morning I sold them and watched in amazement as the stock continued to tumble off the cliff. When I logged-in this evening, I read and re-read the press releases and transcripts from the show. Wow! I can't argue anymore. The IOMEGANS have won. Now there are just too many OEMs strongly supporting this company. In addition, Iomega confirmed they will not have any production restraints. They solved the portable and laptop objections. They confirmed their higher capacity ZIP plans. They came through with their promise of significant announcements. They promised more announcements. Acer said they plan to sell 1 million AcerBasics next year. They have done just about everything right. All that's left is floppy compatibility, simply not enough of an issue to stop them now. Iomega said at the show "we feel confident in claiming Zip as the de facto standard in personal storage." Me too, I'm in. I'll be buying at the open.
