I agree with you that the Telebank acquisition is going to be great. E*Trade has the assets to promote it adequately, and it's an excellent "added-value" to one's account. I just opened an account with them a couple of days ago, received my ATM card, changed the password number so it matches my present account at the credit union (I only can remember so much...), and am now in business. The only hassle is now figuring out how to have my paycheck electronically deposited in my new account, and then having the bills that I currently pay automatically transferred to my E*Trade bank account.

Does anyone know 1) whether they accept direct deposit of checks, or 2) whether they automatically pay bills? I saw there was a bill-paying "button," but couldn't make it work, alas...
