Some more upcoming fights (plus comments):

May 13
At Conseco Fieldhouse, Indianapolis, IN
Roy Jones Jr. (41-1) vs. Richard Hall (24-1) (WBC,WBA,IBF,IBO light heavyweight championship)

I'll take Jones hands down in this one. Don't know enough about Hall to call a round. FWIW, and regardless of weight class, Jones is one of the best fighters today, bar none.

May 20
Atlantic City
Corrie Sanders (36-1) vs. Hasim Rahman (32-2)

Rahman is one of the up and coming young tigers in the heavyweight division. I'll give this one to Rahman in 8.

May 25
Argentina
Larry McDonald (37-1-1) vs. TBA
Henry Akinwande (36-1-1) vs. TBA

Let's see who the TBA's are.

May 29
TBA
David Tua (35-1) vs. TBA

I'll take David Tua over anyone but Lennox Lewis or Mike Tyson from here on out.

I'll also go as far as to say that he is my number one pick for future Heavyweight Champion of the World. Much as I'm a Tyson fan, if there is someone who can unseat Mike of the title - assuming, as I do and hope, that Mike can eventually push Lennox Lewis off the heap - it will be David Tua.

June 10
Caesar's Palace, Las Vegas, NV
Evander Holyfield (36-4-1) vs. John Ruiz (36-3)

Ruiz' nickname is "Quiet Man." Much as I like Evander, my opinion of him has declined over the years, and I'm going to go as far as to say that he should retire before this fight. My pick for this fight is Ruiz by decision with Evander retiring at the postfight conference.

June 17
The Staples Center, Los Angeles, CA
Oscar DeLahoya (32-1) vs. Shane Mosley (33-0)
(WBC welterweight championship)

Oscar is the best true, artful boxer in the business. Whenever there's a debate over whether the boxers of today would beat the boxers of yesterday, I always cite the number of KO's today from body blows - such as the one winning DeLaHoya's most recent bout after losing the title to Trinidad. I'll give this one the wimpy way: if Mosely - no slouch, in his own right, to be sure - makes it past the 8th round, it'll be DeLaHoya by decision.

June 24
Milan, Italy
Mike Tyson vs. Lou Savarese

(I covered this one in a previous message. Tyson in 5.)

July 15
London, England
Lennox Lewis vs. Franz Botha

(Also previously covered. Lewis in 4.)
