Thanks for the report. I am somewhat familiar with INMARSAT, having used it a few years ago when I was working on research ships. At that time, antennas were pretty big (one can usually spot the ~1 meter-tall white antenna radome on most big ships). Now, with smaller antennas and lower per-minute charges on calls, I think that the market should expand and include smaller vessels. It would be nice to see phones on ships being as common as radios.

The number of new satellite projects in development is amazing. I doubt that all of them will be realized. Anyway, it's good to hear that KVHI is in discussion with this industry. I hope that they have a good sense for which projects have the best prospects.

Did they have any products on display? About how many people attended? I find it worthwhile to go to meetings for smaller companies because they will mingle with the attendees and talk. It's a good way to pick up on the tone of how things are going. Meetings for big companies are a waste of time.
