So why did SI jump into this without bothering to find out whether people really wanted it?
Good question, probably because thread hosts like Jenna, A@P, Gilder,and others get annnoying detractors that post incessantly for a few days. Also, I bet some hosts have complained in the past that they would like SI to get rid of the nuisance posters. Just imagine the HITT thread without you, MR.P, Mayor, Mezz, D, and others in June 1999. Bob Simms would have booted all of you. There would had to been two SI threads on HITT. A good stock and its thread should be able to stand up to criticism.

I wasn't aware that RB has moderated thread, but I don't use it much anymore. Ragards,
