hjz -- CSCO/ARPT: I agree with you that this case of insider trading is especially blatant and that it should sound the deathknell for this kind of cheating. Unfortunately, I also agree with BRANDYBGOOD that the SEC is unlikely to do one damned thing about it. I'll be the first to stand up and cheer if I'm wrong, but I just don't see it happening--. Taking down a renegade like Ivan Boesky is one thing, but going for the brokerage houses that let the cat out of the CSCO/ARPT bag is quite another. The Feds who took down Boesky were not angling to work for him some day. But they would like to work for Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, Salomon Smith Barney, etc., etc., some day. Federal enforcement of institutions is, sadly, an example of the fox guarding the henhouse.
