Re: If you have a link to this I would be grateful...

I can't give a URL as the story was in an email newsfeed I get from Computergram, which I think is at computerwire.com, so here's the whole story,

Palm Denies Reports of RIM Copycat Plans

Palm Inc has denied reports that it is planning to introduce an
interactive instant messaging device using the Palm operating system
later this year. Palm is said to have been eyeing the huge success of
Research In Motion Ltd's interactive pagers and planning a similar
device. However, Jim Adamson, director of media relations at Palm,
said that Palm is planning to add some RIM-like wireless features to
Palm devices but nothing more. Sources close to the company suggest
that it will be a year or two before such devices are introduced.

Meanwhile, Palm is still planning to offer a much greater range of
wireless options before the end of this year. "We're nearly
there already," Adamson said, pointing to the Palm VII and the
recently launched OmniSky and Go America services for the Palm V. He
would not be drawn on exactly how Palm will offer increased
connectivity, saying that the company is still looking at its
options. However, a source at one of Palm's partners said that Palm
was looking to offer a new range of devices with Compact Flash cards
to allow users to buy plug-in modems and bluetooth cards which would
allow them to go wireless.

Sony Corp is certainly planning to offer a range of wireless and
entertainment devices based on the PalmOS by the end of the year.
Adamson thinks that the first devices could be out in the summer.

However, if you look at this link

it looks like two very slightly different slants on the same conference
