Chuck, I hope AMD is agressively helping SiS and/or ALi (Acer Labs) with their Athlon chipsets while doubling their efforts internally. I think every $1 AMD spends helping them will cause VIA to spend $1 of their own money.

Does anyone know what the Timna core is based on? Is it basically a coppermine with 128K L2 + northbridge and graphics?

Hopefully, it will not perform clock-for-clock any better than Celeron II because then I expect Duron systems will sell well even at $50 higher cost.
