Actually, the bulk of the qcom acquisition by the index funds was achieved through a private placement by qcom. Some of us found that loss of momentum to be mildly vexing <lol>, and I remember writing a letter of protest to qcom investor relations. I got over it.

Enhanced index funds and growth funds will continue to acquire sebl over time since they are under no compulsion to match the index. That's probably why it has held up so well today.
