I thought you didn't have any objective knowledge about how things are in Cuba?
I knew a fair amount about it then, we studied it thoroughly in HS civics as it was happening.
Sounds like Castro was pleased to ship his own "citizens/prisoners" out of their country.
If Canada offered to take all the dregs of our prison system, I would be first in line to offer them places on the trains. It's my bet that 99% of the people on death row would be delighted to be shipped to a country that didn't have the death penalty. And if you offered the homeless on the streets of any big city a chance to go to a country that had a welfare system that would give them food, shelter, clothing, and medical treatment all free, many would go. Does that make us a bad country because these people would flee if they had a chance?
Let's not forget that Australia was populated with exported criminals from England. Are you saying England was a slave country because of that?
Your apology for Cuba, a pariah in the world economy and a political slave camp,
Boy, you sure love the right wing jargon. You've bought right into it.
an old lefty fellow traveler from of the 30's. Sounds like you've not lost a step since then.
this "old lefty fellow traveller" happens to be an official in the old lefty Republican party. Sorry to prick your self-inflated balloon. It's just that I prefer to observe and think for myself, not let Helms, Burton, and the Miami Cuban lobby do it for me.
But, what do I know, having never lived in the worker's paradise of Cuba, the jewel of the Greater Antilles.
From what I can see, not a hell of a lot. But stick around, there's hope for you; sit yourself down at my feet for a while and it's likely you can learn. <bg>
(Boy, you walked right into that one, didn't you!) |
