<<Management is grasping to define a direction and the sold business is just on paper and has not been received nor has it been earned.>>
I am not sure what you mean. The sold business on paper represents a binding contract where a customer will pay EDS a valuable consideration for services performed. All EDS has to do is perform the services and collect the money. It is earned when the services are rendered. These contracts are generally multi year (average 5-10 years) and are like money in the bank. This management is not grasping to define a direction. Richard Brown is running EDS like the US Marine Corp. That is, everyone carries a rifle and knows how to shoot effectively. What this means is that all the troops are on the front lines delivering results to the customer. Anyone not meeting this profile is either getting retrained or is getting relieved (i.e. out to door). The operating margin has been consistently getting better quarter by quarter and this along with good sales and good customer satisfaction (i.e. contract renewal rate is 90% plus) is the measure of success. I don't call this grasping - I call it effective leadership.
