Honestly, no. Whatever little influence over the thread I may have (and it isn't much) is at the tolerance of my threadmates. A serious allegation about my motives was made. If I had hit the <kill> switch without addressing the charges and then letting my threadmates have their say, I would have lost their trust. The process was painful for me as an individual, but it had its merits, and in the end, the group exerted its will.
I'd rather suffer a dozen intrusions and personal humiliations than take unilateral action that would risk losing the respect of and association with threadmates like Merlin, Dancelot, Apollo, Galahad, Tekboy, Eric L., Stock Hawk, Luke, Malcom, Thucy, BB, etc.
