Steve, Tunica re:Salomon Smith Barney:

I have in front of me SSB report issued yesterday. Since I was following ALA and specially NN for some time there is nothing new in this very bullish report, however few highlights:

* FY2000 eps up to 1.30 us (without NN)
* FY 2001 unchanged 1.70 us(ADR)
* expect upbeat update form ALA after merger with NN!!!!!(late May)
* ALA has a leading global position in access market,an increasingly competitive optical offering seeing hight order growth, and uniqe position in sub-sea transmissioin systems.
* prospect od breakthrough optical contracts with large US carriers in coming months
* ALA is trading in 25,50,70% discount to LU,NT and CSCO.
---------------------------------------

My remarks:
Right now NT revenue per employee is 270 k , where ALA 195.
ALA has 115k employee and 23 billion revenue.
After energy IPO(4 billion revenue, and 18k employee will be gone) by the
end of the 2000, and 30% increase in telecom revenue(after IPO ALA will be
pure telecom) revenue per employee will jump to 260 k , very close to NT.
I am not counting NN b/c NN with 6k employee has over 333k revenue per employee and will be rising faster then the rest of ALA.

50 gig is gaining momentum and this will have huge impact
( of course negative) on some competitors position in IP/ATM space.......!!!!!!!!!

this prodcut is a real a..... kicker
with 450 gig later the game will be over

below is L. Brothers report:
