I actually assumed the Duron that sells into this space will be mated with a chipset that integrates Video otherwise Duron will be completely uncompetitive with an external graphics card.

I think Intel is gonna hit timna hard in the marketplace.

I don't know what percentage of folks buy the lowest cost machines but WW it is significant.

The k6 currently share this market with celerons.

AMD seems to have NO low end response as K6's don't run at 600-700Mhz.

As far as folks at low end paying a bunch more for a duron+MB+Graphics card - I doubt it very much.

I can see a scenario where AMD is in a world of hurt.

And remember Intel did this to AMD a year ago. They bundled the MB's and CPU's for such a low price that AMD had 2M pcs in inventory in Q2 99.

I am NOT predicting a repeat performance, BUT is don't think the super BULLS on the thread are realistic with their current estimates.
