Speaking of monitors, if you are a trader with a high-end monitor, you NEED DisplayMate.

This is the ONLY way to PROPERLY set-up your monitor! If you are twiddling with your controls without using this software, you are just guessing.
You should be able to gain at least one notch in resolution by using this software. (Within the limitations of your card and display, of course.) That is, if you have some point where you feel the picture is too fuzzy or distorted, and so you back-down from the full resolution you might be able to use, you'll be able to go up a notch after adjusting your monitor properly.
It's also important to use a high-quality cable, preferably with BNC connectors. Do NOT run through a switch-box!
I use a Matrox G-400 with an Iiyama vision Master Pro 510 (22"). I run at 1800x1440 (I'll get around to taking a snap of my RT3 screen shortly...) and it is crystal clear. It was NOT before I got DisplayMate.
No, I do NOT work for them - just a happy customer. It seems like a lot of money for a program that just displays test patterns, but it is well worth it. They also give you pretty clear instructions on how to make the adjustments, and it knows about most monitors. (e.g. what kinds of controls they have to adjust.) |
