RE: What about businesses?
You would think he would want to use the business spending figures to size up Cisco's predicted wealth, since its businesses who buy Cisco stuff. However, just remember that in the US we spend everything we get, and businesses spend what they get from us almost right away, so we would be looking at the same result either way.

If you want the real bottom line on Cisco, you just have to look at the end result of their business. The end result is, everyone in the United States will, well before we are dead, have a high-bandwidth multimedia internet connection in our household, just like we have every popular technology. We will use a single data-line for our telephone, internet connection, and TV/DSS/Cable connection. If you think that is too far-fetched, then don't buy CSCO. If not, then you may want to go the Cisco router.

So yes, I do think Cisco has a chance of going to number one on the Fortune 500.
