Dear John: It wont be humorous if the FED kills the goose that laid the golden egg. EVERY UP cycle in modern history, here in the USA was KILLED by an overzealous FED, not by inflation or anything else. Personally, I feel that the economy has been able to weather this policy of gradulism in raising interest rates BECAUSE our economy is so good we not only balance the budget but are paying down the accumulated deficit resulting in actually LOWERING long term interest rates. If, the damn fools begin to jump the rate in an effort to contain the inflation that so far doesnt exist outside of their minds (except for things beyond the control of the FED-such as oil and tobacco prices) we run a very real chance of entering a recession IMHO.
