Hi Mark

In this case, a well known buyer of VARL products, Netro, has an agreement to supply Spectrapoint. How can VARL make a press release to that effect?

Perhaps the nature of Varl's relationship with Spectrapoint is other than that through Netro? If it is only through Netro as an intermediary why does it suddenly show up?

In July 1999, we get varil.com announcing relationship with Netro for VCO's. Now in March 2000 in the Newbridge Network announcement do we see Spectrapoint, Agilent, etc for the first time varil.com.

I agree it is not practical to have a press release for Netro's deals but perhaps we should have a few of our own.

Now if Varl is taking the "trouble" to list new vendors out of the blue, if you will, should not the share holders be privy that the relationship exists and some non-violating disclosure about the nature of the relationship? The volume and dollars of the arrangement would be nice but at least some visibility.

Dream sequence

..."VARL is pleased to announce that Spetrapoint, a division of Bosch, Motorola and Cisco has agreed to test (purchase, supply, whatever) VARL's VCO's in their upcoming family of LMDS products. Dave Sherman, president and CEO of Vari-L, said, "We are extremely pleased Spectrapoint has selected Vari-L based on our core competencies to provide RF components for use in their LMDS systems. This agreement is the culmination of more than four years of collaborative product development efforts, underscoring our commitment to gaining market share through superior engineering and customer support. Given the orders Vari-L has received over the past several quarters, we are optimistic that the rapidly expanding market for "last-mile" broadband communications will contribute to increased revenue growth in 2000 and beyond."
