Hi Gene:

I extrapolated from these numbers from last week:

thestreet.com

<<Sony shipped 18.5 million units of the PlayStation hardware in the 1999-2000 fiscal year, a decrease of 14% from the year before, and shipped 1.41 million units of PlayStation 2 hardware, introduced in March...>>

Although a lot of may have gone to prime the channels, 1.41 million units in 1 - 1 1/2 months, for Japan only, bodes very well. Europe and USA introduction scheduled for 2H2000. Your guess is as good as mine, but I suspect we will be at 70MM RDRAM units (chips, etc.) by 31 March 2001. And I also recall that the royalty rate is closer to 5%, vs. the PC rate of 1-1.5%.

Cheers,

BP
