I'm not sure about that. I haven't had much experience with hardy azaleas in outdoor gardens. I'll take a look at a couple of my gardening books and see if I can find an answer. I have moved other types of flowering plants after waiting 4 or 5 weeks after blooming... plants like peonies and irises, and I usually think it's safe to do so just so long as they are watered in well after relocating them...
