I don't know about the big one. There was some low magnitude seismic activity in the area around May 2nd. If the last eruption was in 1991, the last significant seismic activity in March 1995 does not seem to have affected the Steamboat itself although it did alter the Norris Basin where it is located. The Norris Geyser Basin is situated on the intersection of three faults. Other factors that seem to influence geyser activities: * The heavier the rainfall, the lesser the activity * Like tides, geysers seem to be on a 4.4 year cycle following the differences in orbital planes of Earth and Moon Rhinehart, J.S.
