image of the fasces,
which, bound together, are strong

Not really. The fasces were a bundle of rods surrounding an ax, with the blade protruding, bound together by a strap for easy handling, borne before the Roman magistrate by lictors as symbols of authority to flog and behead. I think you have them mixed up with the bundle of arrows in the the eagle's claw. I am afraid you are not smart enough to teach in my third grade. Sorry. Nice try.
