How do you thank a benefactor ? By kicking it in its butt, of course. For, why else would people still sing of the "customer loyalty" of a monopoly named "Apple". Or. Imagine Microsoft complaining to FTC re. the prevailing monopoly (Netscape) giving its product away for free thereby stifling competetion. Oops, thats not Politically Correct in the valley... Yet I wonder where the largest *number* of MSFT shareholders live .... And now Borland! At a time when the company needed his attention most, its CEO was busy selecting toilet fixtures (ref: WSJ). Now it can barely hold its employees and needs an excuse for another bad year or two (I imagine). Have we turned *so* protectionist ? Whatever happened to that free market thing ?? Perhaps there should be a law for it, too :-|
