Rarebird:

In a democracy all roads ultimately lead to inflation. So I see stagflation is much more likely than outright deflation. The printing presses will be working day and night if outright deflation ever arrives on these shores.

On POG the long-term outlook is quite uncertain. Much higher prices certainly are a real possibility, but I would not want to bet the farm at this point.

By contrast, the odds of a move considerably above $300 before too many moons have passed are excellent in my judgement. There will be plenty of time to reassess the long-term outlook when and if gold gets to $310-$330 this year as I expect.
