ABOUT THE DEMONSTRATIONS
---------------------------------------------------------------

With over 12,000 signers to their online petition Americans to
Keep Eli n Free (A.K.E.F.) will hold peaceful demonstrations
outside the Federal Buildings of many major American cities.

The purpose of these demonstrations are for Americans to show
their support of Eli n Gonzalez' inalienable right to be free
and remain in the US. We will fly American flags, sing the
American National Anthem and other great songs of liberty to
show our support during this day long event. The demonstrations
are planned on May 10th 2000 outside a Federal Building near
you (the day before Eli n's asylum before the 11th Circuit
Court of Appeals).

We hold that Eli n's right to life, liberty, and the pursuit
of happiness is the fundamental issue in this case, and this
issue is being covered up by the false alternative of "family
values" versus "anti-Castro politics". Our goal is to make
Americans aware that the moral thing to do is the American
thing to do: protect Eli n's inalienable right to his own
life by keeping Eli n free in America.

Won?t you join us to fight for freedom and individual rights
in America? We will send a message to the government and to
the world that we, like our Founding Fathers, believe in
freedom and will fight oppression. In the word?s of Patrick
Henry, "Give me liberty or give me death".

All members of the public who support this American cause
and local and national media are invited to attend. For
the latest demonstration information, including an online
sign up form, printable posters, essays, maps and
directions, please visit our website.

CAN'T MAKE THE DEMONSTRATION, THEN SEND US A DONATION
---------------------------------------------------------------

Would you like to help to financially support this grass roots
effort? We are already several thousand dollars in debt just
from making phone calls!!! If you would like to send a donation
to help support the National Effort to KEEP ELIµN FREE please
email mark@capitalism.org for more information.

QUOTABLE AND NOTABLE
---------------------------------------------------------------

" Americans, you use the word "custody" and parental care and
stuff like that. It doesn't exist in Cuba. And then you're
forgetting, too, that the American legal system is not sending
back a boy to his father. The American legal system is sending
back a boy to a dictator who leads a regime that four years
ago sunk a tugboat, killing 11 children." --Alina Fernandez,
Fidel Castro's daughter speaking on Larry king Live

"He [Eli n] is a possession of the Cuban government."
--Luis Fernandez Castro's spokesperson in Washington D.C.

"I regard the deportation of Eli n as a slap in the face of the
Founding Fathers and their principles. It is totalitarianism
vs. freedom that has to be considered and that is why this is
an American issue, not just a Cuban one. This country was
founded on the basis of each individual's right to life,
liberty and the pursuit of happiness." --Leonard Peikoff
