Michael --

Your response is extremely well put. I'm short on time so will remark on a couple issues and leave it at that.

What it all comes down to is that I don't expect people who are acting in good faith to be ripped apart. It ruins the quality of life and the willingness of others to share. It would take a lot to convince me that intentional deception is at play.

If there were one error, I would write it off as unintentional, however, there are many. If these errors were small I would write them off as sloppy research, they're not --- they're off by a magnitude of three. If these errors were in isolation involving only one article and one company, I might write it off as being the work of an inexperienced underling. They're not. TGR's coverage of Terayon has been rife with errors from the beginning and when the story changed regarding CableLabs and DOCSIS, he continued to tout it as the best technology and a world standard. If the North American standards body chooses a different standard, your products can neither be the best nor a standard. Parse the words however you want, any claim to the contrary is misleading at best and fraudulent at worst.

Faced with the obvious, I would have to ask, are these the only times GG's misled his public? If you catch your spouse cheating --- or lying (they often go together) -- what are the first thoughts to cross your mind? How long has this been going? How often? Has it ever happened before? Will it ever happen again?

I think the last is the hardest.

I have a plane to catch so can't address some of your other thoughts. Again, you've expressed yourself well and I applaud this level of debate.

Take care.

Pat
