I cannot understand what Germany hopes to gain by doing this sort of thing. The Cooke case seems particularly egregious considering the lengths that man went to, in order to retrieve his children. I have rarely read such a black and white case. If the events are as they have been described then Mr. Cooke has every reason to give the German's the finger. I can't imagine what his life has been like.
