New Release: MAINFRAME ENTERTAINMENT, PRODUCER OF COMPUTER-GENERATED ANIMATION, FILES PRELIMINARY PROSPECTUS FOR INITIAL PUBLIC OFFERING
VANCOUVER, May 8 /CNW/ - Christopher Brough, president and chief executive officer of Mainframe Entertainment, Inc., announced today that the Vancouver-based producer of computer-generated (CGI) animation has filed a preliminary prospectus with Canadian securities regulatory authorities in preparation for an initial public offering of common shares.
Net proceeds of the offering will be used for various purposes, ncluding development and financing of a feature-length film; financing of current productions, including a third season of the 3D CGI television series ``ReBoot''; and acquisition of property, plant and equipment, including software.
First Marathon Securities Limited is the lead underwriter for the offering, with CIBC Wood Gundy Securities Inc. and Yorkton Securities Inc. also in the underwriting syndicate.
Mainframe Entertainment has been producing computer-generated animation in Vancouver since 1993. Its productions are viewed in more than 100 North American markets and in 65 other countries. Mainframe's first television series, ``ReBoot,'' has won four Gemini Awards and consistently ranks among the top three programs in audience ratings on YTV. Mainframe's second series, ``Beasties'' (``Beast Wars'' outside Canada), has achieved the highest viewer ratings in YTV history.
Mainframe Entertainment currently has two 35-millimetre films in production for exhibition in IMAX Ridefilm motion base attractions throughout the world. Other international development projects include a joint venture with Storyopolis, a US-based entertainment company owned by Microsoft co-founder Paul G. Allen, and ``Closing Time,'' a Canada-France co-production involving Mainframe and Decode Entertainment of Canada and Millesime Productions S.A. of France.
