From what I understand, EXLN's software allows a company to by pass an exchange altogether and allows a company to connect directly with their trading partners. They offer a complete solution with which to do this. The big problem with exchanges is that large vertical markets will not continue to use an exchange based B2B that involves per transaction fees if they have the tools to connect to each other directly. Why would they? The story here is to cut out the middle man, not cut him in. The exchanges make sense where you have a lot of smaller businesses that need to connect with a lot of other smaller businesses. These exchanges automate what was the job of a distributor.....but like a distributor they take a cut of the transaction. Once a company is set up on EXLN's software with their trading partners, there is no transaction fee.
