A new Chairman? Well, sometime between now and 2010 for sure. This year? Personally, I don't think it would make that much difference. The Service Providers hold the whip hand for the most part and the gateway rollouts are trundling along 'on plan'.

If Bernie suddenly decided he couldn't be bothered tomorrow, called the office and told them he figured he'd done his bit, I don't think things would go much worse or better.

Personally, I'd be a bit disappointed. Sure, the secrecy and 'moving plans' bug me, but nobody does it all the way I'd like. There's no minute graph on globalstar.com and at 118,000 billable minutes plus those in the first week of May, I'm not surprised they haven't bothered so far. That's a pitiful figure.

It shows a huge failure of the Service Provider marketing plans so far.

The Service Providers are the failures. Not Globalstar LP. The Service Providers could unilaterally cut their minute prices to 70c and still make huge profits, more than they make in terrestrial networks. So what the hell is their problem? They also capture long distance, international and terrestrial minutes if people buy a Globalstar phone so they should use it more like a loss-leader than a front-end rip-off.

Sack Mike Kerr of Verizon/AirTouch/Vodafone, not Bernie!! Sack Chris Gent!
